Learners bring with them a range of personal values and understandings. These can be tied to their religious, cultural, or national identity, upbringing or understandings. As instructors, it is our responsibility to become aware of our students prior knowledge and provide a learning environment where students are safe to explore topics and ideas, challenge assumptions and embrace diversity.
